Press House implements psychosocial support sessions for the second group of Palestinian Female journalists

On Sunday, January 5, 2025, Press House - Palestine implemented psychological and social support sessions for the second group of Palestinian female journalists, as part of the “Journalists Camp” project funded by the Canadian government.

The sessions, which lasted for four days and were presented by psychologists Mariam Al-Bayoumi and Manal Abu Youssef, aimed to reduce psychological pressures, improve the psychological state, and increase the psychological resilience and endurance of female journalists.

The first session focused on the first psychological aid service for female journalists and training them on the basics of providing the service and the mechanisms for intervention and dealing with crises, emergencies and dangerous situations.

The second session focused on implementing psychological relief activities and tangible expression of their feelings through drawing and modeling with clay and the tools that assist these activities.

The third session of the psychosocial support sessions focused on building the “happy city” they want to live in, achieving happiness and comfort for themselves, and psychological relief through drawing, cutting, and pasting with colors.

The fourth and final session focused on the importance of self-care and teaching them ways to relieve stress and relax to improve their psychological state and plan for a better future.

Abu Yousef and Al-Bayoumi confirmed  the need to continue providing psychological and social support to Palestinian female journalists in the Gaza Strip, especially since they suffer from very complex social and living conditions in light of the current crises.
