The Legal Protection Unit for Journalists at Press House - Palestine (BAS) organized a series of visits to a number of media and radio organizations in the Gaza Strip.
During the visits, lawyer Abdullah Sharshra, coordinator of the Unit), reviewed the most important tasks of the unit and the services it provides to journalists in Palestine.
Mr. Sharshra added that the visit of media organizations and radio stations aims to introduce the legal unit and services it provides to journalists working in various media organizations.
Mr. Sharshra explained that the services provided by the Legal Protection Unit for journalists (men and women) are free, and aims to promote freedom of opinion and expression and defend media freedoms, as well as raise the awareness of media professionals and provide practical legal counsel and instruction that contributes to building their legal abilities, and knowing their rights and duties.
Mr. Sharshra noted that the unit will monitor and analyze violations against journalists per month basis, and publish them in periodic reports, stressing that the legal unit provides its services in an atmosphere of professionalism and the privacy of journalists.
