A group of people with disabilities launched an "Our Voice Our Cause" campaign on social media platforms today, Thursday, from the press house in Gaza City.
A number of people with disabilities in particular, as well as a number of social media activists and a number of media activists, launched this campaign.
This campaign was led by media activist Mohammed Hisham Abu Al-Qambez. Al-Thuraya Social Media Cafe participated by was published and posted via Facebook and Twitter platforms.
The campaign aims to let the media institutions pay attention to their responsibilities towards the issue of disability as a national and social human rights issue. In addition to referring the responsibility of neglecting the disability issue to the media. As well as exposing the suffering and challenges of people with disabilities and highlighting the role of the Palestinian media in correcting and standardizing disability terminology.
The tweeter used sentences emphasizing the rights of people with disabilities to seek their cases, such as "Look at my talent and do not look at my disability, disability is a start and people with disabilities have the right to claim their rights."
This campaign is an output of the course "Media Empowerment for People with Disabilities to support their Rights", which was held from 9/7 to 12/7 of this month.
