Gaza, 18/03/2017--- The Social Media Café launched on Saturday an initiative to issue the 18thof March as a national day for the Palestinian woman, in cooperation with Press House and a number of partner organizations.
The activity which was organized in Press House, was attended by tens of social media activists, aiming at supporting this initiative through tweeting on social media with phrases and statements that praise the Palestinian women, their resistance and the effective participation in the Palestinian society.
Sultan Nasser, the Social Media Coordinator, said that the initiative is created by the youth efforts since they believe that they are the change leaders. They aim to issue
a national day for the Palestinian women and to enrich the Palestinian content with the issues of women on the social media tools.
Nasser confirmed that the Palestinian nation will celebrate the national day of the Palestinian woman next year, as she is a partner with the man in everything, the generation founder and the mother of martyr.
In his turn, Belal Jadallah, the Chairman of the Board, asserted that the initiative gathers the social media representatives in partnership with the media& women organizations in order to issue a national day for the resistant Palestinian woman.
Jadallah stressed on the importance of issuing this national day by the official parties as a little duty to be presented for the resistance and generosity of the Palestinian women.
In her turn, Amal Ahmad, the General Union of the Palestinian Woman Representative, said that creating a special day for the woman is a national right for a several sacrifices, noting that the woman is a partner in resistance, generosity, and decision making.
She promised that the General Union for the Palestinian Woman will raise the voice of the initiative high and send a message to the President Abbas and to the Palestinian authority to issue a national Palestinian Day for the Palestinian women.
In her turn, Mariam Abu Daqqa, Member of Central Commission of Popular Palestinian Front for Palestinian Liberation, presented stories of the Palestinian women’s resistance. She added that the Palestinian women have been a source of panic for the occupation.
Abu Daqqa confirmed that there’s a necessity to step forward to give the Palestinian woman her right at minimum of making a national day for them.
Abu Daqqa stressed on the importance of this step towards giving the Palestinian woman her right and issuing a national day for women.
In her turn, the released prisoner Fatma Al-Ziq said; “ the Palestinian woman is the whole society, as she steps forward with everything she has for the country progress. It’s a duty to make her a special day for the many sacrifices she makes.” She hopes that this initiative could make an effect.
In her turn, Nadia Abu Nahla, the representative of Women’s Affairs Center, said that woman is the whole society, following that her achievements deserve a spectacular initiative like this and make her a national day.
In her turn, Andaleeb Odwan, the Head of Social Media Center, asserted that issuing a national day for women is wonderful celebration of the international woman’s day, where there must be a day for the Palestinian woman throughout the years.
Odwan praised the initiative in which she believes that it contributes to raising the voice and sacrifices of the Palestinian women in all fields.
In his turn, Khaled Safy, Social Media Expert, said that this initiative of the activists is considered the first of its kind, praising this gorgeous initiative that proves the sacrifices of women.
He assured that the Palestinian women have the whole right to have such a day, since they have been presenting injuries, prisoners and martyrs.
Alaa Hamouda, the International Commission for Palestinians’ Rights Protection Representative, thanked Press House for hosting the activity, confirming that there’s a necessity to having such a day which represents the Palestinian woman to be a decision maker not only a partner.
