Gaza, 12/10/2016--- Press House organized Face the Press Meeting with Eng. Ziad Al-Thatha, a member of Hamas Faction in the presence of elite workers of media and broadcast field in Gaza city.
Belal Jadallah, the chairman of Press House, welcomed the guests, stressing on the importance of such meetings like this to enhance freedom of expression and democracy.
In his turn, Eng.Ziad Al-thatha assured that the condition of holding elections is very normal to his faction, since Hamas held it previously during the period of the Israeli occupation and the Palestinian Authority.
Al-thatha said;" We can hold elections at any time and in any place, and nothing would stop us, and on only two weeks, Hamas can get the elections done.
He added, " Hamas doesn't have candidates because it's not allowed; neither the elector nor elected know who would succeed in that. Added to this, the internal policy of Hamas doesn't allow the political Bureau Chief to be candidate for two sessions."
Al-Thatha expressed his satisfaction on the internal election process of Hamas, since it is held without electoral propaganda and ended quietly within two weeks.
He asserted that Hamas Faction will never allow anyone to interfere in its political, military or security decisions, justifying that the decisions of the factions are taken after dialogues and discussions inside and outside the country. He followed that Hamas has endured the siege and the political , military and security abuses, where it refused taking money for the sake of the self-decision making and then the Hamas decision will be only for the Palestinian people.
He said that when Hamas makes waiver after waiver, it doesn't care at all as long as this will lead to a Palestinian national reconciliation with a clear goal which is to liberate the land, holy places and humans.
He explained that Hamas participated in the election for protecting resistance and after being the government, where any waiver made was aiming at protecting the resistance.
In the same context, Al-Thatha confirmed that the relation between Hamas and other factions depends on the strategic, Islamic and Human depth, pointing out that it moves in a parallel way in order to mobilize more visions and attitudes.
He said that his faction will not interfere in the internal affairs of the neighbor countries, noting that Hamas is not an authority to interfere in other countries' affairs.
He pointed that Hamas deals with the current issues in a clear strategy which everyone shows commitment to, stressing that the Palestinian cause is a critical issue that all authorities of the world must pay attention to.
Internally, Al-Thatha confirmed that Palestinian National dialogue is the base of dealing with other issues, stressing that -for Hamas- the national reconciliation is a target and a strategic decision .
He followed :" Although It's true that there's a considerable obstacle to the reconciliation either from local forces or international, we adopt this principle as a constant strategy. That way, we can mobilize all Palestinian forces to face confront Israel.
Al-Thatha showed that his faction is devoting great efforts for reconciliation, explaining that it has made many waivers including leaving the government for the reconciliation" which we hope to be on the right track by the efforts of everyone in the coming days" as he said.
About electricity crisis, he confirmed that Israel agreed on line (161) 6 years ago, but the Palestinian authority represented by the president Mahmoud Abbas rejected to give approval for providing the Gaza Strip with this line.
He said that Israel asked for an official statement of approval from the Palestinian authority in order to provide line (161), but till now it's rejecting.
He added that the Palestinian authority discounts from the salaries of its employees the cost of electricity, while the money of these costs remain in the West Bank so that nothing would be to buy fuels for Gaza.
Al-Thatha revealed that there's a 4-year agreement with several quarters for creating solar energy, saying:" Samah Company is now ready and there are 400 are ready to provide equipments, where three areas of the Gaza Strip have been allocated for it. The station starts producing 40 M.B to even 100 Megawatt. Otherwise, the problem lies in the bank guarantee."
He explained that Qatar has suggested to establish a station working by the solar energy in Gaza, but the Palestinian Authority has asked to establish it in Hebron with 100 Megawatt voltage with a guarantee of providing Gaza with 100 megawatt from Israel.
In the same context, he mentioned that Hamas put an economic vision when taking power in Gaza. It also wanted to put "a difficult-to- implement economic plan", since all forces have started to fight and blockade the kernel, enjoying the suffering of the people in Gaza.
Al-Thatha praised the inhabitants of the Gaza Strip, "who smartly and uniquely were able to record achievements in all fields with the very limited potentials and possibilities.
He pointed out that less than 20,000 civilians were working in agriculture field the last year, indicating that this number has reached now to 78,000 civilians working in a high quality. He mentioned that the strip also was importing during 2001, 30,500 Tons of vegetables annually, where now it is importing 2000-2000 and half tons to abroad. He noted that the strip can import more, but the occupation has limited the amount of imported products.
He pointed out that agriculture in Gaza is processed on water dot system, asserting that the checks done by the occupation proved that Gaza has no residues or toxins.
He added;" we started in 2010 with 164,000 civilians working in the private sector , and in 2015 to 262,000." Following;" about the total national product, we started with 1,900 billion & 80,000$ but now we've reached 3 billion, 246 million$, noting that the profits of people in 2015 were 1 billion,549 million$, while the compensations of workers were 3/4 billion $. He added that all of these is not enough, "as we need to expand in transportation and trade sectors."
Al-Thatha confirmed that his factions seeks to expand in this field and improve as much as possible, following;" I think that the great attention to keep the security condition of the country compels great leaders that Gaza is the most safe country all around the world."
About the internal trade, he said that more than 45,000 people working in the internal trade field, noting that there are 350 touristic facilities, where more than 15,000 people working in.
About Rafah border, Al-Thatha repeated his confirmation that Hamas cannot accept some points related to opening Rafah border, saying that " Hamas created conventions twice and has not received responses, since" delivering the government and weapons is a condition to activate the conventions.
Regarding the activities of Dahalan members in Gaza, Al-Thatha asserted that Hamas doesn't interfere in the other factions, the same as it doesn't like any faction to interfere in their issues, noting that when any faction sends a request to stakeholders, it is given a permit for it.
About the last demonstration In Gaza, he said that Fatah represented it, where its organizers has presented a statement, which we are officially considering it.
