Gaza, 7/2/2016 --- Within Face the Press Program organized by Press House- Palestine, a special meeting with Dr.Nasser Al-Qedwa, Fatah Center Committee member and the chairman of Yasser Arafat Organization, was organized in the presence of a number of journalists, media workers, intellectuals, and writers in order to be briefed of the latest politics news and answer their wonders as well.
Dr-Nasser Al-Qedwa, Fatah central committee member, said that reconciliation agreement requires from Hamas to abandon its functional and security control over the Gaza Strip, as well as from Fatah to accept to cooperate with all factions which are asked to make something for the Palestinian unity and participate in Al-Doha meetings.
During the meeting organized by Press House on Sunday, Al-Qedwa stressed on the importance of setting a clear political program based on the Palestinian Liberation Organization Program of the Palestinian unity, in order to achieve independence, end the occupation and establish the country on the 67 borders.
He noted that the acceptance of these requirements facilitates the discussion about the less important issues like the employees , resistance weapons, and the decision of peace and war with Israel.
Al-Qedwa added that Fatah representatives had an obvious political decision to rebuild unity, wishing all the meetings were fully successful. He denied if there was any sponsor for such meetings, saying that they came upon Arabian calls to end up the division and build unity.
He added that theres a mutual understanding between the Palestinian factions that any reconciliation agreement should include solutions for all the files and the critical issues, to ensure applying the reconciliation and never face any obstacles. Moreover, he mentioned that achieving the Palestinian unity is really important to g on fighting Israel and starting a war, by using legal and political means to repel the occupation in the international forums, through tools like the rules of the international humanitarian law, which criminalizes the actions of the occupation. He asserted that the old political condition with Israel was ended and could never come back again at all, expect upon new foundations based on the establishment of the Palestinian country on the 67 borders. In the same context, Al-Qedwa pointed out to the presence of international initiatives to end the occupation like " the French", which was tackled positively, adding that there is an Arabian and International support for establishing the Palestinian country.
He also said that his visit to Gaza aimed at checking on the house of the president Yasser Arafat after it had been received from Hamas, and his holdings saved in the forum headquarter in the Gaza Strip.
Al-Qedwa expressed his sorry for the loss of many holdings of Yasser Arafat, noting that they are upon full refurbishing and reforming the presidents house, as well as making the house q museum for some of the Palestinian activities.
He assured that they could regain some lost holdings like special medal of Nobel Price For Peace, which Yasser Arafat once received, noting that these lost holdings are remarks a good history and well-build relations with the outside world. He pointed out that they are working on recovering them.
Al-Qedwa said that the death of the President Arafat negatively caused on Fatah, refusing to talk much to media about issues of Fatah faction.
In another context, he explained that holding the seventh conference is something critical and an essential step to make a change on Fatah, noting that the problems are related to the general political situations.
About the assassination of the President Arafat, he commented saying that all investigations proved that Israel did it by using the poison, indicating that the investigations are still ongoing.
He said, " the main and critical topic of this issue is the political responsibility and decision that must be taken after the end of the investigations" Reviewing one of Arafat Story, saying," When Om Nasser died, Israel asked Arafat to get out from Ramallah heading to the Gaza Strip to participate in the funeral, then the president asked if theres a possibility to return to Ramallah again, and Israel never gave a clear answer, Yasser Arafat refused to participate in the funeral, preferring to be trapped in Ramallah rather participating in the funeral and never come back again.
He added, " When the president died, there was real arguments about the place of burial, where Israel suggested "Gaza" as a place of his burial, but we insisted on burying him in his headquarter in Ramallah" About the public uprising, Al-Qedwa considered what is going on in the Palestinian lands is nothing but a spontaneous uprising, which is done by a new Palestinian generation ready to make sacrifices to change the reality. He stressed on the importance of supporting this uprising and never changing it to army Intifada instead, even if it is prevented achieving the reasons of making it.
At the level of the international steps to face Israel, Al-Qedwa said that these steps made important achievements like soaring the Palestinian flag, getting international recognition of Palestine and joining the International Criminal Court.
