On Wednesday, August 13, 2025, Press House – Palestine organized a dialogue meeting between the Governor of the Palestine Monetary Authority, Mr. Yahya Shannar, and a group of male and female journalists in Gaza City, held via Zoom.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Hakmat Yousef, a member of the Board of Directors of Press House, welcomed the participants, explaining that the meeting was part of efforts to promote freedom of opinion and expression and to provide a platform for constructive discussion on various financial issues in the Gaza Strip.
Mr. Yahya Shannar spoke about the cash liquidity crisis in the Gaza Strip and the role of the Palestine Monetary Authority in developing solutions to address this challenge facing residents of the enclave.
He also highlighted the efforts undertaken by the Palestine Monetary Authority since the outbreak of the Israeli war on Gaza to alleviate the burdens on its citizens.
The meeting included interventions and questions from journalists, which the Governor of the Palestine Monetary Authority addressed. Participants also presented a set of proposals and ideas that could be built upon to tackle the liquidity crisis and high commission fees in the Gaza Strip.
