Gaza/26/5/2016--- Azzam Al-Shawwa, the governor of Monetary Authority and the economy delegation, who came from the West Bank on Thursday, held a conference in Press House-Palestine, in the presence of a pile of journalists and media workers.
Al-Shawwa announced that the liquidity crisis, which the Gaza Strip suffers, has ended .
He added that the monetary Authority provided 4.000.000 Nis for Gaza, weighting a total of nine and a half tons. He pointed out that these amounts fill the gap needs of the local market of Gaza, especially with the approach of Ramadan time and Iftar Eid within such fears of wholesales of liquidity crisis, leading to monopoly.
He mentioned that 50 million Nis, category of 20-50Nis- of new banknotes have entered Gaza.
He also clarified that the total value of deposits exceed 1 billion $, noting that 85% of the deposits value are already loans.
Al-Shawwa said that 60 million sheikel (NIS) of worn and non-negotiable" banknotes have been returned from the Palestinian banks coffers to the Central Bank of Israel.
He asserted that 21 million dollars have been pumped during the last days , in cooperation with UNRWA, noting that Monetary Authority has got the approval for 20 million dollars more, in an attempt to solve the crisis.
