Press House Concludes "Audio Journalism and Podcasting" Workshop

On Tuesday, June 3, 2025, Press House – Palestine wrapped up a specialized training course titled "Audio Journalism and Podcasting", as part of its “Journalists Training 2025” project, funded by UNESCO.

The seven-day workshop was held in Gaza City, led by journalist and trainer Hazem Abu Hamid. The course ran for a total of 35 training hours and brought together 24 male and female journalists.

Participants explored the foundations of audio journalism and podcasting—tracing its roots, evolution, formats, and genres. They also analyzed podcasting models from local, regional, and international contexts.

The trainer guided attendees through the creative process: selecting podcast topics, building a sonic identity, defining target audiences, writing scripts, structuring episodes, preparing questions, conducting research, and managing interviews.

Hands-on sessions focused on voice performance, delivery techniques, operating audio equipment, and sound editing using professional software—including adding music and audio effects.

By the final day of the course, the participants had successfully produced 22 podcast episodes, each fully recorded, edited, branded, and published during the training.
