In January 2023, Press House – Palestine received the second batch of occupational safety equipment for journalists (protective vests and helmets) with the aim of distributing them to Palestinian journalists, as part of the Swiss-Norwegian project for the year 2023 in order to increase their occupational safety during emergencies and wars.
This comes as a complement to the first batch received by Press House during the year 2021. By providing this equipment, Press House aims to contribute to enhancing the professional safety of journalists and helping them to continue their work in the field to convey the truth at all times and during emergencies. This is a continuation of Press House's approach and strategy to promote freedom of opinion and expression, support independent media, and provide legal protection for Palestinian journalists.
It is noteworthy that Press House opens its doors to local and foreign journalists, activists, and graduates of media colleges to benefit from the services it offers, especially during periods of wars, escalation and emergencies to ensure the continuation of their work.
It is also worth mentioning that during May 2022, Press House distributed occupational safety equipment (protective vests and helmets) to dozens of journalists. However, the high demand for these equipment was much greater than the equipment provided at the time, so Press House sought to provide additional occupational safety equipment.
