Gaza - Press House
The Legal Protection Unit for Journalists at Press House – Palestine (BAS) has published a factsheet on violations against media freedoms in Palestine in January 2022.
The fact sheet highlighted violations committed against Palestinian journalists (women and men) by Israeli Occupation and internal entities, in addition to digital rights violations.
In January 2022, the number of committed violations against media freedoms in Palestine has reached (48), the Legal Protection Unit at Press House has documented (32) violations committed by Israeli Occupation representing (67%) out of total violations, (5) internal violations representing (10%) and (11) digital rights violations representing (%23).
The factsheet indicated that by geographical area, (2) internal violations were documented in the West Bank representing (40%), and (3) internal violations were documented in the Gaza Strip representing (60%).
Also, the Legal Protection Unit at Press House has documented (11) digital rights violations, (10) journalists from the Gaza Strip, in addition to (1) Journalist from the West Bank.
