Press House organizes two workshops on the topic of "Applications of Freelancing concepts in the Media"

On Tuesday and Wednesday, August 18-19, 2020, Press House - Palestine (BAS) organized two workshops on the topic of "Applications of Freelancing concepts in the Media",  as part of  Strengthening Free & Independent Media in Palestine ‎Project ‎.

The facilitator of the workshop was‎ Mohamed Al-Afifi,  lecturer and expert in the field of e-marketing and self-employment, in the presence of a group of students and graduates of the faculties of journalism and media in the Gaza Strip.

Mr. Mohammed Al –Jaja,‎ MEAL officer at Press House,  welcomed the participants in the first workshop on self-employment in the media, and spoke about the importance of the workshop, which seeks to give participants a comprehensive knowledge about the free work in the field of media and its applications and platforms.

From his part, Mr. Mohammed Al-Afifi opened the workshop by asking some questions related to the field of self-employment in the media, and knowing the expectations of the participants of the workshop.

The trainer discussed the importance of self-employment in reducing the gap between university disciplines and the labor market, and providing different job opportunities that help young people to get rid of unemployment.

He pointed to some self-employment platforms such as (Mustakel - upwork - Kamsat- fiverr) and photo-selling platforms, which help beginners to work freely and break the barrier of fear with self-employment, and explain how to deal with platforms through a practical demonstration of what the platforms contain and identify them.

The workshop contained a lot of questions focused on how to start working through self-employed platforms, investing in media in self-employment, and highlighting the appropriate applications for self-employment in different fields of journalism.
