Launching " Encounter Antibiotic Resistance. It's in Your Hands " Campaign From Press House

Gaza, 06/05/2017--- The Palestinian Assembly for Infection Fight launched a campaign in cooperation with the Ministry of health, E-Microbes project, WHO, the Ministry of Higher Education, the Egyptian Assembly for Infection Resistance launched " Fight Antibiotic Resistance, It's in Your Hands" for the safety of people and reducing the spread of diseases.

The campaign, which coincides with the International Day of Clean Hands, aims at changing the behaviors of people so that infection spread can be ceased and many souls can be rescued. The campaign has been launched in the Gaza Strip in partnership with a number of governmental and non-governmental organizations.

The campaign includes a program for infection prevention throughout the year, where such policies will be set  to fight the antibiotic resistance  including study days, lectures, seminars, awareness brochures, voice messages, TV meetings, and social media campaigns.

Dr.Ramy El-Abadla, Head of the Palestinian Assembly for Infection Fight, confirmed that spreading health awareness for infection fight and keeping the environment safe are the main goals of the campaign through creating case study of Infection Fight and developing the curriculums.

He noted that they have selected the first anti-infection programs as keeping hands clean is really important and plays a role in reducing disease spread by up to 30% of the diseases which cause the death for millions of children.

In his turn, Dr.Abdel Raouff Ali Al-Mana'ma, Head of E-Anti Biotic Program in Palestine, said that infectious diseases are still a major killer of children in most countries of the third world and Palestine. "That's why we have to devote many efforts to educate the youth and elderly people so that the infectious diseases could be reduced." He added

He called on everybody especially media to participate in the campaign and shed the light on it to help it attain its objectives, as well as educate children in early age about the dangers of infectious diseases and how to fight them.

Dr.Mahmoud Daher, the Head of WHO in Gaza, praised the efforts of anti-biotic project team, the campaign activities, and the work of the Palestinian Assembly for Infection Fight.

He explained that there's a great interest in anti-Microbes and anti-biotic, asserting that the personal hygiene  is the major factor  that helps the world and health services presenters to get rid of the new global epidemic.

He noted that there are more than 300 million of surgical interventions in the world that have showed infections in hospitals and increase in deficits, thus keeping hands clean is the major factor of reducing this danger.

Dr.Ahmed Al-Yazoury, assistant Undersecretary for Higher Education, added; " our objective in the educational curriculum is to spread the health and cultural education, enhance washing hands attitudes through brochures for school students.

Dr.Yousef Abu Reesh, asserted that it's nice to have this campaign in these special partnerships to work on spreading the culture of clean hands so that we could have community and patient security.
