Gaza, 28/11/2016--- The Palestinian Film Forum has announced the start of the preparation activities of " International Jerusalem Film Festival/ Second Course", in partnership with Palestine Technical College and in cooperation with Freedom Dawn For Culture& Art Center.
During a Press Conference conducted in Press House on Monday, Ezz El-Din Shallah, the head of Jerusalem Film Festival, said; " The preparation committee is announcing the start of the preparation activities for the second course of the international Jerusalem Film Festival."
He added; " The activities will be launched tomorrow, so that the international day for solidarizing Palestinians will be on 29th November, along with the day of uniting the Palestinian geography."
Shallah reviewed the history of the Festival saying; " The international Jerusalem Film Festival was only an idea launched by a cinematographic group since the festival stopped due to the siege, fundraising, and aggressions challenges.
He asserted that the objective of creating this festival is to get the attention of the international community for the importance of Jerusalem to Palestinians as a capital of Palestine and to cross experiences of Palestinian cinematographic people and their peers at the Arabian and international levels, as well as to develop the talents of the youth and deepen the visual vision of the especially because there's a special department of the talented people.
Shallah added; " we will be trying to surpass any mistake during the second course of the festival in order to establish a successful one. The head of the festival will train a group of youth on organizing an international film festival that befits Palestine and its Sacredness.
He indicated that this festival will confront the Israeli Jerusalem Film Festival, which takes place each year for 30 years and by which Israel tries to convince that Jerusalem is a capital of Israeli. He wished that one of the coming courses of the festival is launched in front of Jerusalem's wall.
A TV report was displayed about the history of the festival and the first course, as well as the objectives that the festival is trying to attain.
In his turn, Naser Qaws, representative of the festival in Jerusalem, praised the efforts of teamstaff in Gaza for launching this initiative and bridging cooperation between Gaza and Jersulem despite the Israeli practices against Palestinians including the siege and the prevention of calling prayers " Aladhan".
During his speech through skype call said; " The occupation wants to conceal the voice of right, and steal what the city includes. They also wants to wipe the voices of Muslims and Christians in Jerusalem.
Qaes said that they are still proof due to your support and cooperation through making films in Jerusalem, which will participate in this ceremony to reveal the Israeli actions against people .
In his turn, Saed Al-Sweirky, spokesman of ceremony, said; " We all realize the real struggle about the historical propaganda and convincing those who are culturally, regionally, socially different with the Palestinian propaganda."
Al-Sweirky added during his speech; " it's been more than 30 years that the Israeli Jerusalem Film Festival has been launched, while we all were absent, never been thinking of the "most dangerous media outlet."
He followed; " The Jerusalem Film Festival is our project that we are trying to make it annually, where we all unite the Arab and Islamic efforts beyond it." He added that their annual activity can be repair what politics have ruined.
He felt hopeful that the festival can be a spot that unites all people who believe in the existence of Palestine , then we announce that humanity is the tool to encounter all the attempts of beguilement.
He indicated that the film festival is their dream of having a committed cinema that is considered as a bread of people. He said; " we have announced our readiness to make this dream."
