Gaza, 12/11/2016--- Press House- Palestine concluded "Promoting Objective Media" project, which was funded by Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung, in the presence of Bo Schack, UNRWA director operations as an honor guest, a number of media organizations, legal people, journalists, academics and law people.
Belal Jadallah, chairman of Press House, said that Press House has been paying much attention to the media people and activists as well as the colleges, asserting that this generation of male and female journalists will be the future weapon.
He added; " it's our one of our priorities to focus on the tens groups of media youth", confirming that despite the difficult situation the Gaza Strip is passing by, still the role of the youth is still effective including the voluntary work.
Jadallah confirmed that Press House works upon a clear strategy in many fields depending on a clear repetitive program, which is enhancing freedom of expression in the Palestinian territories.
He noted that for developing the objectives of the organization, Press House worked with Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung on this project, which targeted 30 students of media and journalism throughout long months.
He added that the target group received extensive training and educational meetings, and been practically trained on the field at the end of the project in Sawa Agency.
He followed; " we look forward to attaining objectivity even a simple part of it, so that we could create a media generation that is able to objectively write and encounter the Israeli propaganda, noting that Palestine has important journalists who can deliver the truth as it is.
He explained that how to address the international media and to affect on the international propaganda, how to reach the international media in a Palestinian vision with a national and professional media that enhances freedom of expression, is the most essential part, hoping that the trainees have fulfilled their dreams and will continue their work to the next year.
In his turn, Bo Schack , UNRWA director operations, confirmed the importance of objective media as it has the possibility to solve the disputes of opinions in an objective way.
Bo Schack added that; " The situation of youth is so difficult within the reality they face, I recognize these difficulties including the siege imposed to the Gaza strip for more than 10 years."
He noted that to reach the other world is difficult but with the default method, and without tackling the trials and obstacles that the youth face including the lack of job opportunities. Bo Schack expressed his surprise about seeing the big number of men and women working together and reflecting issues.
He said that the international media is high leveled, where messages are delivered through media platforms, noting that credibility is so important when delivering any massage.
He said;" we work with other partners in Gaza and we look forward to working with you in order to change the miserable reality, which is rounded on Siege and occupation.
In her turn, sahar Sarsour,coordinator of the project, said :" Press House launched the idea of the project based on the faith that media is the people platform by which they can express their opinions and guiding their attitudes ,focusing on building the capacities of journalists in producing media work far away from extremism."
She added that the main goal of the project is to build the capabilities of journalists of both gender in order to be capable to advocate Palestinian issue.
Sarsuor explained the activities of the project including training, educational sessions, exchange expertise meeting, practical training In Sawa Agency.
In her turn, the trainee Mariam Naji represented the trainees in a speech, where she thanked all those who contributed to making the project successful, and the donors of RLS for funding this project.
Naji wished that more projects can get fund for such projects, since they were trained by experienced trainers.
She followed; " we got so much information from the educational session, exchange meetings organized by Press House.
About the success Story of the project, Ahed Olwan expressed his pride to be a sample of Promoting Objective media project.
He said; " I did succeed in the project many times, especially when I was selected among 200 journalist to be part of the project. The second time was when I was selected to be one of the 15 trainees to be practically trained. The last time was when I was selected to be a success Story in the project.
Olwan confirmed that he has known the objective media by the project, and afterward he's started to write more professionally and objectively with more speed.
He explained that the training in Sawa Agency is considered to be so important and a turning spot, adding that the staff devoted efforts to make everything highlighted.
During the ceremony, a video was displayed, which documents the activities and achievement of the project. Moreover, Dabka performance was included too by young men.
The chairman of Press House, Balal Jadallah, awarded the honor Guest Mr.Bo Schack and bessan Shehada, RLS representative. Souvenirs were granted to all trainers, academics and heads of universities who participated in the project.
At the end of the ceremony, the trainees were granted certificates for participating in the project.
