Gaza, 16/10/2016--- Jamal Al-Khodary, head of Popular commission against Siege, appealed Necolay Mladenov, Special Coordinator For The Middle East, to form a quartet commission to lift the siege of Gaza.
During a conference held in Press House on Sunday, Al-Khodary praised Mladenov for the lastest statement, by which he asked for lifting the siege and accelerating reconstruction process in the Gaza Strip.
Al-Khodary explained that everyone knows the situations the Gaza strip is going through under severe siege and terrible pressure in all walks of life, noting that all these situations indicate that effective and real steps and a clear vision must be taken to break the deadlock.
Al-Khodary stated that the situations are getting worse and worse after two years of donors conference in Cairo, indicating that there are 12,000 housing units had been completely damaged during the Israeli aggression against Gaza.
He added; " 3,000 housing units have been done, while 3,000 have donation but there are no building materials to start". He said that there are 6,000 housing units still waiting for donations and building materials to be rebuilt.
Al-Khodary asserted that there are 60,000 Palestinians living a very miserable life at a rented house, camps or caravans, while everyone out there is watching.
He assured that Israel is using dripping policy in getting building materials into Gaza, in a purpose of extending the siege and slowing reconstruction process for long years.
He also said that cement entrance into Gaza system known as (GRM) has stopped since last May till now, where neither people nor organizations have been recently registered for reconstruction fund.
He said;" the one who looks through the societal image, will figure out that there's something on the list being prepared under this dangerous policy of restriction.
During another context, he thanked Egypt for opening Rafah border for Palestinian travelers, hoping that this case goes on till the movement of people is facilitated and the suffering of people is ended.
Al-Khodary appealed Egypt to reactivate reconciliation file and make it priority, since this will lead to many conventions such as reconciliation, truce or agreements of prisoners.
He added that the proposal would be about a sea lane by a port dealt on, where there will be movement through the Sea with European control to get the Israeli pretexts back.
At the end of the conference, Al-Khodary called to work on eliminating political division as soon as possible, since there won't be any political progress under the existence of it, noting that the Palestinian unity is an important weapon to strengthen the internal front of Palestine.
