05/10/2016--- the activities of the national campaign of breast cancer awareness have been launched today on the occasion of " The pink October", which is for raising the awareness about the breast cancer.
Belal Jadallah, the chairman of Press House-Palestine, welcomed the campaigns noting that Press House is always the receipt for this activity each year.
Jadallah indicated that launching this campaign in Press House, proves that the organization support it and pay the attention of other media outlets to cover it.
This came during launching " The National Campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness", organized by " Smile of Hope", Ministry of Health, Arabian Hospital for Rehabilitation, and Woman Health Center, with a motto of " Be Safe by the Early Detection For Breast Cancer" at the headquarter of the organization in Gaza City.
Salwa Al-Doghma, the spokesman of cancer patients, said that when she was informed that she has cancer, she got so weak and didn't want to see anybody; But after a period of time she decided to fight the disease and traveled then to Egypt. After this, she came back to Gaza with a very bad economic situation. She decided to work as " hairdresser" as a source of living, trying to not give up to the disease.
Al-Doghma advised every women to check for the early detection, since the disease can be come over and healed. She also said that everyone who has cancer, must be strong enough.
In his turn, Ziad Al-Khozondar, representative of "Smile of Hope" institution said, "5200 medical files for cancer patients at Al-Rantisy, and 120 cases are detected monthly in a total of 1400 annually.
He noted that cancer disease ranges 30% out of the whole number of female patients, while colon cancer ranges 19%, and lung cancer ranges 13% out of number of the male patients.
Al-Khozondar explained that the motto of this campaign is " Be Safe by the Early Detection for Breast Cancer" since early detection contributes to quick recovery.
In her turn, Ayda Hellis, representative of ministry of Health, confirmed that the early detection increases the number of the recovered women with 98% percentage, noting that breast cancer is considered to be the most common disease among Gazan women with a percentage of 30% out of cancer cases.
She said that her ministry has established free health services unit in " Medical Remal" Center for offering services to the cancer disease patients through checking and TV rating for those who are in need.
In his turn, Mohamamd Al-Naqa, representative of Arabia Hospital for Rehabilitation, said that women should protect herself by the early detection.
He clarified that each woman over 40 could visit the Arabian Hospital for Rehabilitation to be detected on cancer.
In her turn, Nour Abu Al-Nour, the head of Woman Health Center, said that 2 million women are subjected to breast cancer, stressing on the importance of early detection.
She said that her center implements many activities for early detection awareness, offers Psychologically support for those who have the disease, displays educational movies for women in order to tell them about the procedures of early detection and other related activities.
