Gaza, 7/9/2016--- Jamal Al-Khodary, The head of Popular Committee Against The Israeli Siege, asserted that the reconstruction process in the Gaza strip may take more than 10 years, due to the restrictions imposed by Israel on entering the necessary materials for reconstruction.
During a conference held on Wednesday in Press House- Palestine in Gaza city, Al-Khodary said that what has been reconstructed during the last years doesn't exceed 30%, where 3000 out of 12,000 totally destroyed houses have been built. Added to this, 3000 houses have got the financial fund of reconstruction but still not yet haven't been granted with the materials of the construction .
He noted that 6,000 houses still waiting for fund and reconstruction materials, asserting that 65,000 people in the Gaza Strip are still homeless due to lack of reconstruction.
About the industrial Sector, Al-Khodary said the number of factories and industrial entities which were reconstructed doesn't exceed 0-5% of the total loss, where the total losses exceed 120 million dollar, noting that 950 factories were destroyed during the last aggression upon the Gaza Strip.
He confirmed that the real process of reconstruction hasn't started yet, indicating that the situation in the Gaza Strip is so nasty and dangerous.
Al-Khodary appealed the sponsors of donors conference for Gaza Strip Reconstruction, especially Egypt and Norway to press on Israel to enter the required materials of reconstruction, and on the donor countries to commit their promises of reconstruction.
