Press House Holds A Conference For The Ministry of Economy

Gaza, 13/3/2016 --- Press House- Palestine hosted a conference for the Ministry of National Economy at the headquarter of the organization in Gaza city, in presence of a number of media outlets.

 

Hatem Oweda, undersecretary of Economy Ministry, confirmed that they are about to form an advisory Board to protect the Palestinian consumer, where there are governmental entities and Organizations of the Gaza Strip to contribute in cooperation with ministries in protecting the consumers rights and ensuring their safety during presenting the services and goods.

 

On the occasion of international day of the consumer Protection, Oweda said that his ministry following any monopoly, exploitation or manipulation attempt, in addition to their confirmation on the importance of advertising rates at all industries and markets.

 

He noted that they are seeking to enhance the role of the Palestinian consumer through spreading awareness and continuously contacting them, as well as activating the role of consumer protection organization in cooperation with all the governmental entities, private organization and the civil society.

 

Oweda pointed out that 2016 is for appreciating the Palestinian product, asking to boycott the Israeli products and never buy any.

 

In his turn, Emad Al-baz, assistant undersecretary, said that consumer protection management is really essential which holds a great responsibility under the Israeli siege exposed on the Strip, noting that they made great achievements over the last year 2015.

 

On the occasion of international day of consumer protection, Al-Baz said that 500,000 brochures have been printed to spread awareness about the consumer protection, where all were stuck on public places in the Gaza Strip.

 

Besides, they are intending to hold workshops to talk about protecting the Palestinian consumer.

 

He finally said that the campaign will include the local broadcasts and the Palestinian TV to spread awareness, noting that field visits, titled Consumers Protection, will be organized in the local markets, in order to educate people about the goods and their expiry dates.
