Gaza, 15th of December, 2014 --- Press House – Palestine hosted a workshop for “Not Prohibited Initiative” about “Early Marriage” at the organization’s main office in Gaza.
The workshop included the presentation of a film titled “Not Prohibited”, which shed the light on the cause of early marriage in Palestine, in the presence of a group of young journalists, where they discussed the reasons and implications of this phenomenon.
The journalist and the workshop organizer “Suha Dahliz” said:” The idea of the film came as a result of increasing the divorce percentage compared to marriage percentage during the last two years; where early marriage is a reason.”
Dahliz clarified that the film shows the bad implications of early marriage and its bad effects on children.
She also mentioned that the targeted groups of the initiative are female journalists and lawyers, indicating that the film will be presented in many places to reach a wider audience.
Worth mentioning that “Not Prohibited Initiative” came as a part of “Share your people” campaign, funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and under the supervision Future Development Committee of F.D.C.
