In the Presence of the EU Representative … Press House Opens the First Photo Exhibition “Gaza 51”

Gaza, Wednesday, 26th of Nov. --- Press House – Palestine opened its first photo exhibition in its main office in Gaza, in the presence of the EU representative Mr. John Rutter and tens of Palestinian journalists and photographers.

 

The exhibition that held the name “Gaza 51” included tens of unique photos that embody the suffering of Palestinian citizens during the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip for 51 days.

 

Hundreds of journalists, photographers, and other interested people visited the exhibition which will continue for two conductive days “Wednesday and Thursday”.

 

In his speech during the opening of the exhibition, Mr. Rutter ensured that Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip deserve a better life, calling for ending internal conflicts and accomplishing the reconciliation for the favor of the Palestinian citizens in general and Gaza Strip in particular.

 

Mr. Rutter stressed that he does his best to help the people of Gaza; to ease their suffering and help them to overcome the difficulties the war on Gaza left.

 

Mr. Rutter praised the role of journalists during war and stressed that they deserve all respect and appreciation for their efforts, especially that many of them had been killed and injured. He also praised the exhibition and the photos displayed.

 

For his turn, Mr. Belal Jadallah, the head of Press House, during his word, ensured that the Press House organized this exhibition from their believe of the importance and value of the press photos, especially during Israeli aggressions.

 

Jadallah added that the displayed photos reflect the catastrophic reality Palestinians in the Gaza Strip lived in as a result of the Israeli aggression that continued for 51 days.

 

Jadallah talked about the difficult circumstances Palestinian journalists faced during their work in war, mainly the direct targeting of journalists which resulted in killing 17 journalists and the injury of around 30 journalists.

 

He also ensured that Press House is committed to serve journalists through its various programs and activities, pointing to the intention of Press House to organize the exhibition annually to show the work of photo journalists.
