Gaza, Thursday, 25th of September --- Press House – Palestine concluded the third training course in occupational safety with the participation of 25 journalists working for various news agencies and media outlets.
The three-day course covered the subjects of media coverage during wars, crises, and field events. The participants received practical exercises of how to deal with injures and aid their colleagues in the field as well.
The training course also included training on dealing with nongovernmental bodies in cases of traveling. Trainers praised the level of the training course, and called the Press House to intensify the courses that cover the subject of occupational safety.
The journalist “Jihad El-Helou” expressed his satisfaction with the training course, and said that it was his first time to receive training in occupational safety of media coverage during wars and crises, and recommended to the Press House to organize further training courses in this subject.
While “Ra’fat Ashour”, another trainer, praised the training course, especially the practical exercises they received by the international trainer Samy Abu-Salem.
Ashour expected that these courses will improve the journalists and media workers’ performance of covering wars. For his turn, Mr. Belal Jadallah, the head of Press House, promised to organize future courses in the subject of occupational safety to protect journalists from prospect dangers.
Worth mentioning that this training course comes as a part of “Capacity Building of Journalists Program” funded by the Swiss and Norwegian governments.
