In Cooperation with Press House .. NCCR Concludes Media and Social Networking Course

Gaza, Thurs, March 13 --- National Center for Community rehabilitation (NCCR) concluded a training course in Media and Social Networking; to support activists with disabilities.


The seven-days training course aimed at utilizing media outlets and social networks in supporting people with disabilities and defending their rights.


The course was divided into two parts: the first one talked about media and social networking, supervised by Mr. Sa'ady Hamad from "Palestine Today Channel", while the second part talked about the basics of editing the press release, and was supervised by Dr. Tahsin El-Astal, journalism lecturer at Al-Azhar University and the deputy chairman of Palestinian journalists' syndicate.


Safwat Diab, the executive manager of the NCCR welcomed the participants and the supporters who contributed to the success of the training course saying:"The training course gives people with disabilities the opportunity to express themselves and communicate with journalists, local, Arab, and international society using  the World Wide Web."


"This activity is a new and creative one; that will help people with disabilities to advocate for their cause," Diab added , expecting participants to launch a "Facebook" page for publishing their issues and demands; to gain local and international sympathy."


Dr. Tahsin said:"We're trying to empower people with disabilities for using the different social networks; as they're more able to express their needs."


Mr. Belal Jadallah, the head of Press House-Palestine, ensured his full support of people with disabilities in facilitating their connections with journalists and media outlets.


Jadallah reminded with the campaign that will be launched by Press House soon; to serve people with disabilities by connecting them with Palestinian journalists in Gaza through initiating a social page that connects them to each other.
