The Press House Organizes a Mental Preparation Workshop for Female Journalists Before They Deliver Their Testimonies

The Psychosocial Support Team at Press House – Palestine, in cooperation with Filastiniyat, organized a specialized psychological preparation workshop on Sunday, September 27, 2026, targeting 15 female journalists preparing to share their testimonies about traumatic experiences and events.

The workshop facilitator, psychologist Saja Al-Husseini, explained that the workshop aimed to provide a safe space that strengthens participants’ ability to maintain control and set personal boundaries while sharing their testimonies. She emphasized the fundamental principle that "the testimony belongs to the woman who shares it."

The workshop focused on equipping female journalists with psychological self-regulation and calm breathing techniques, as well as recognizing signs of psychological stress and applying grounding techniques to reconnect with the present moment, without delving into traumatic details or reliving traumatic experiences.

The results of the pre- and post-workshop assessments showed a notable improvement of 11.87% in the journalists’ level of psychological readiness, alongside an overall workshop satisfaction rate of 83.33%.

The workshop concluded with a set of recommendations, most notably the need to continue providing psychological preparation sessions for female journalists, particularly those working in the field, as well as ensuring access to individual psychological follow-up and support when needed.
