The Legal Protection Unit for Journalists at Press House - Palestine (BAS) has published a factsheet on the violations against media freedoms in Palestine in October 2022.

The factsheet highlighted violations committed against Palestinian journalists whether by Israeli Occupation, or Internal Palestinian entities, in addition to digital rights violations. The number of committed violations in October against media freedoms in Palestine reached (233), the Legal Protection Unit at Press House has documented (178) violations committed by Israeli Occupation representing (76%) out of total violations, (11) internal violations representing (5%) and (44) digital rights violations representing (19%).

The distribution of violations by geographical area indicates that the violations by Israeli Occupation in the West Bank reached (178) representing (100%). As there was not any media freedom violation monitored in Gaza City.

As for the internal level, the fact sheet indicated that the percentage of internal violations by geographical area in the Gaza Strip reached (1) violation representing (9%) of the total violations, (10) violations were monitored in the West Bank representing (91%). As for the digital rights violations, (44) digital rights violations were documented, representing (19%) of the total violations, most of them were caused by the "Meta" company, which includes the platforms Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. According to the factsheet, the most prominent ways of violations of media freedoms observed during the month of October are: preventing journalists from media coverage, physical assault, injury by rubber bullets, and the arrest of journalists.
