The Legal Protection Unit for Journalists at Press House - Palestine (BAS) has published a factsheet on the violations against media freedoms in Palestine in August 2022.

The factsheet highlighted violations committed against Palestinian journalists whether by Israeli Occupation, or Internal Palestinian entities, in addition to digital rights violations. The number of committed violations in August against media freedoms in Palestine reached (243), the Legal Protection Unit at Press House has documented (85) violations committed by Israeli Occupation representing (35%) out of total violations, (3) internal violations representing (1%) and (155) digital rights violations representing (64%).

The distribution of violations by geographical area indicates that about (35%) violations were committed by Israeli Occupation, (16) violations were committed in Gaza City, and (69) violations were committed in the West Bank, while (3) internal violations were documented, (2) violations were committed in Gaza Strip and (1) violation was committed in the West Bank.

Also, the Legal Protection Unit at Press House has documented (155) digital rights violations, most of them were caused by the "Meta" company, which includes the platforms Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
