Press House concludes "Investigative Journalism" course

on Monday, June 6, 2022, Press house-Palestine concluded "Investigative Journalism" training course within the activities of the Swiss-Norwegian project for the year 2022.

The training course was held in Gaza City for ( 7) days , a total of (35) hours of training, presented by Mohammed Abu Qamar, Investigative Journalist. The course targeted (15) trainees as journalists and media colleges graduates.

Abu Qamar reviewed a number of topics to raise the cognitive abilities of the trainees on the exploratory study, methods of collecting information, preparation of the hypothesis and research methodology, as well as investing technology to serve the investigations and ways of legal protection for the dissemination of information.

The trainer explained the concepts of preparing investigative reports and the difference between types of processing, how to build clear and applicable hypotheses, in addition to how to invest technology to serve the Investigative reports through relying on open sources, data analysis, electronic mapping, methods and of presenting the investigation.

For his part, Mr. Abdallah Sharshara, Coordinator of the Legal Protection Unit for Journalists , reviewed the laws governing the investigative reports and what is legislated by Palestinian law during the preparation of the investigation, also, he reviewed how to apply legal protection during the collection of data and information from various sources, pointing to the Press House's legal protection manual.

In the practical framework, the trainer divided the participants into five groups, each of which consists of three trainees and trainees working on the same title, in order to raise their cognitive and practical abilities.
