Gaza - Press House
On Wednesday, June 01, 2022, the cultural club held at Press House, a cultural symposium on the topic of "Palestinian Literature and Hatred Speech", as part of the Swiss and Norwegian project activities 2022.
The Cultural Club was attended by the Writer Mr. Yosri Al Ghoul, the Writer Ms. Reem Redwan" Woman Activist and Advisor", the Omani Poet and Writer Mr. Zahran Al Qasmi through a recorded video and Dr. Nabil Sha'ath, in presence of a number of active writers in the Palestinian cultural scene and new writers.
The symposium was lunched by the Writer Mr. Yosri Al Ghoul, who emphasized the goal of this cultural club, which is to promote the Palestinian literary scene in the appropriate way, as well as the necessity for self-reviews in Palestinian writing, and to find out what literary messages and writings carry for other communities.
The Writer Ms. Reem Rodwan, talked about how to overcome hatred speech and strengthen societal construction by accepting others as one of tools to advance communities, emphasizing the necessary to reject hatred speech and humanize the Palestinian literature.
The Omani Writer Mr. Zahran Al Qasemi, talked that writing the novel works to bring people together and helps humanity, emphasizing the need of translating works from many languages to Arabic language and show the communication between people around the world.
Dr. Nabil Sha'ath talked about the current political crisis that we live and the importance of achieving the national unity and ending the Palestinian division, emphasizing that the Palestinian territories are going through a dangerous stage requires rejecting all conflicts and uniting to face Israeli Occupation.
The meeting included many participations, which focused on how to contribute in reducing hatred speech and discus the important role of promoting literary culture in communities.
