Gaza - Press House
On Thursday, March 10, 2022, Press House - Palestine (BAS) held a dialogue session on the topic of “Palestinian Women Journalists... Reality and Experiences” on the occasion of International Women's Day, as part of the Swiss & Norwegian project activities for 2022.
The session was held in Gaza City, with participation of Ms. Nofoz Al Bakri, a journalist, Ms. Isra'a Al Buhaisi, a journalist, Ms. Ruba Al Ajrami, and in presence of a number of journalists (women & men), students and graduates of media colleges.
Ms. Al Ajrami opened the session, talking about the role of Palestinian women in general and the media in particular in covering events and highlighting national, social and other events.
Ms. Al Bakri said that the "Palestinian woman is the basis of the community, and if the woman is strong, the community become strong because of her", noting that her first journalistic work was on the topic of “He warned me from bullets and he fell as a martyr,” which was her first confrontation in the field.
Ms. Al Buhaisi reviewed her media career and accomplishments in the media field, saying that "she began in media field since her childhood, the first was radio", recalling the events she experienced during her media career and how she worked to refine her personality and skills in journalistic work.
Also, Ms. Al Buhaisi shared some advises for participants to take in consideration during the practical and scientific process and to focus on developing the culture and continuous reading.
At the end of dialogue session, Press House honored Ms. Nofoz Al Bakri with an honor Trophy, appreciating her role in media fields in highlighting many national and community events.
