Gaza – Press House
Under the sponsorship of Press House - Palestine, Zaman FM implemented an initiative during April 2021 on the topic of “Raise your Voice” as part of “Strengthening Free & Independent Media in Palestine” project activities funded by the Norwegian and the Swiss Governments.
The initiative aims to strengthen the concept of the right to freedom of opinion and expression and the right of accessing information in addition to promoting the role of media and media professionals in monitoring the Elections.
The initiative included launching three radio episodes through which a group of media professionals (women and men) working at media institutions and at civil society institutions were hosted to talk about media freedom, media professionals’ role in the electoral process, strengthening the role of young people in participating in the elections, and maintaining the electoral process in an atmosphere that guarantees freedom for journalists and their right to monitor and cover the electoral process.
Also, the initiative included two radio spots broadcasted on FM radio which emphasized that expressing opinions and participating in the elections is a guaranteed right for all people, the necessity of citizens’ participation in the elections, the importance of media role in monitoring the electoral process in addition to keep citizens aware of the latest news and developments during the electoral process.
