Gaza – Press House
On Thursday, February 18, 2021, Press House – Palestine (BAS) concluded the third training course of Comprehensive Journalist Program for 2021 within “Strengthening Free and Independent Media in Palestine” project activities funded by the Norwegian and the Swiss Governments.
With consideration of high preventive measures to prevent the outbreak of COVID19, a number of fifteen graduates from media colleges in the Gaza Strip participated in the journalistic reporter program.
Mr. Basel Khalaf, Correspondent of Alaraby Television and the trainer of the course, reviewed his journalistic experience and explained the missions of journalistic reporter in many media fields, such as audio, visual and written media and how to choose the perfect ideas for journalistic stories and news reports taking into consideration the journalistic coverage in humanitarian stories.
Mr. Basel Khalaf also mentioned the mechanisms and techniques of conducting television interviews and the physical cognitive tools that the journalistic reporter should obtain emphasizing integrity and objectivity that journalistic reporter must care about throughout his career.
As a result of the theoretical and practical sides the course has covered, all trainees were able to produce a television report and each trainee was assigned to draft a proposed report for publishing.
It is noteworthy that the comprehensive journalist program is an intensive and continuous training held for one month. This program includes four consecutive training courses in “Journalistic Editing, Photography, Journalistic Reporter, and TV Reports Production.”
