Gaza -Press House
On Thursday, October 1, 2020, Press House – Palestine (BAS) sponsorsed an initiative on the topic of “Together Towards Reducing Spread of Coronavirus”, in cooperation with Association of Visually Impaired Graduates League.
Ms. Wafa Abu Dreika, the coordinator of the initiative said that the campaign, which lasted during September, 2020 targeted people with visuall impairment and their ways of adapting and supporting them in the community and adapting them to the emergency situation caused by the outbreak of the Coronavirus in Gaza Strip.
Ms. Abu Dreika said that the initiative consisted of 4 radio episodes on the topic of "Corona and persons with disabilities" broadcast on the radio "Shams" which launches its wave on "Facebook", and addressed in total 4 aspects targeting the category of visually impaired, which are education, quarantine and psychological and social aspects as well as 20 radio spots awareness, varied between text, dialogue and singing, aim to address persons with disabilities in particular and the society in general, about ways to deal with the spread of Coronavirus and methods of prevention.
Ms. Abu Dreika added that the four radio episodes tried to focus on the difficulties face the visually impaired person as a result of the Corona pandemic in Gaza, ensuring that solutions were provided to them to achieve harmony in society.
