13/12/2017--- Press House hosted a meeting for discussing Al-Ketab Crisis in participation of representatives from journalists syndicate, Palestinian Journalist Cluster, Palestinian Media Assemble, Democratic Journalistic Assemble, and Democratic Media Assemble.
The discussion was about the reasons and consequences of the crisis regarding the legal and media rights. They explained that closing the channel is a loss for the strip as the channel used to present a purposeful content and contribute to delivering objective media message to the world.
In their turn, the workers of the channel explained that they were informed by the administration of the university that the channel would be closed due to financial crisis.
The workers added that they are really worried about their professional destiny after they have been jobless, demanding all media bodies to find a solution or lobby against the decision of the university, so that it could take the decision back.
In their turns, the members and representatives of journalistic bodies expressed their support to the workers and promised to find a way so that they could do something for the channel.
At the end of the meeting, the workers thanked the Press House and other journalistic bodies for holding this meeting that shed the light on a very important issue linked to the future of tens of employees.
Worth noting that the Islamic University of GAZA ,the owner of the channel, has decided suddenly to close the channel and informed the employees of ending their contracts.
