Gaza, 13/03/2017--- Alsalama Charity Association for Injuries and People with Disabilities Care on Monday a Press Conference in commemoration of the Palestinian Injury Day, which marks in March of each year at the head quarter of the Press House in Gaza city.
During the conference, Mohammad Al-Nahhal-the Head of the Association, Huda Naim- Deputy of Legislative Council, Salah Abdel Aty- Hwad of Masarat Center for Studies and Research, and Dr.Salah Al-Hems, Deputy of BOD of the association, as well as a number of injuries and journalists.
Al-Nahhal considered that the Palestinian Injury Day is a distinctive National Day, since the injuries are the power of the nation, not as others called them by “ Handicaps”. So many of them are sport players, educated people, lecturers and teachers.
Al-Nahhal added, “ we are delinquent towards them, that’s why we confirm that our association deals with all Palestinians far away from their factions, and there are obligations and laws the organization follows.” He also noted that the organization works hard and all the time to alleviate the injuries and martyrs.
In her turn, Husa Naim asserted that the Legislative Council cares much about issuing a bunch of laws to protect the injuries, noting that Article 22 of the Palestinian Basic Law states that caring the injuries and people with disabilities is a duty, where the law organizes the rules and the National Authority provides them with education, health& social insurance and education services.
Naim also added that they have a draft law of the injuries, but it hasn’t been finished for political and security reasons, confirming that the LC always seeks to grant all the issues rights of law of the injuries including creating a special law for them.
In his turn, the lawyer Salah Abdel Aty, Head of Masarat for Studies and Research, stressed on the importance of a societal national committee in the participation with the political authorities to a strategic plan for supporting the injuries and people with disabilities, where the committee must hold a clear vision so that the needs of such a group are guaranteed.
Abdel Ati recommended that a special law of the Palestinian injuries throughout the Palestinian revolution must be issued, and a governmental monitor must be provided, as well as a national day of injuries must be officially issued.
In his turn, Salah Al-Hems confirmed that continuing the commemoration of the injuries day will guarantee the presence of injuries issues, where everyone must pressure on the official and decision makers to stand for their needs and rights that ensure good living for them.
Al-Hems presented the activities implemented by the association in the commemoration of the national day of injuries including launching the International Palestine conference for injuries and people with disabilities.
