Gaza, 05/02/2017--- Press House-Palestine concluded a training course on “Visual Storytelling”, which targeted 15 photographers of both genders.
The three-day course with a total of 15 training hours was led by the journalist Naaman Ishtewi, head of APA Images Agency.
The training course covered several topics including the principles and Arts of photography, the difference between the artistic and the journalistic photo, the standards and stages of building the visual storytelling, the rules of taking the photos, the common mistakes of photography and how to add description on journalistic photos.
The course included the rules of utilizing the photo in delivering ideas, opinions, aspiration, and how to fix journalistic photos.
The participants have selected topics for their projects in order to work on them throughout the ten coming days. Each participant is commissioned to submit a project of the visual storytelling about “ Tolerance Towards Women” to be evaluated by a special committee in Netherland. The winner project will be awarded and displayed in Netherland at a photo exhibition on the Woman’s International Day.
On the Woman’s International Day, which takes place on 8th, March, the participants will be awarded a certificate of accomplishment during a ceremony organized by Press House in cooperation with Netherland Representative Office.
Worth noting that 38 photographers of media majors applied for this course, where the best 15 applicants were selected based on specific criteria set by a specialized committee of Press House one week before the first day of the training.
This course came within the Visual Storytelling project, that is funded by the Netherlands Representative Office NRO.
