Gaza, 10/08/2016--- Press House- Palestine concluded 10 political educational session which came within "Promoting Objective Media in Gaza" funded by Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung Foundation.
The ten sessions covered several topics that increase the awareness of the trainees about objective media and advocacy campaigns. The first session, led by Tawfiq Abu-Shumar, was about " How to encounter Israeli Propaganda", while the second, led by Hani habib, was about "The reality of Palestinian Cause & Challenges". The third session led by " Suad Abu Ramadan, was about " how to address international media", while the fourth, led by Mageda Al-Belbesy was about the challenges that Palestinian media faces. Nadia Abu –Nahla, women affairs specialist who talked about the reality of Palestinian women in Politics, was the leader of session 5. The lawyer Baker Al-Turkman talked about the rights of journalists in the sixth session, while Dr.Mariam Abu-Daqa talked about the role of women in Palestinian politics in session 7. The eighth session was led by Suhair Zaqout, spokeswoman of ICRC, who talked about the international humanitarian law, while Hala Al-Qeeshawy, excusive manager of Al-Dameer institution for Human Rights, talked about Gender and the social sensitivity in the eighth session. Finally, the last session led by Abdel-Naser Ferwana, head of prisoners affairs specialist, tackled the subject of " the role of media in shedding the light on prisoners".
The political educational sessions targeted 30 media graduates and workers of both gender from various areas of the Gaza Strip.
This kind of activity aimed at enhancing media capabilities of the trainees through increasing their awareness of objective media and how to advocate the Palestinian cause.
