Gaza, 28/8/2015 --- Seeking to enhance freedom of expression and the citizens right of getting information from the main source, Press House – Palestine organized a program titled "Face the Press" via Jerusalem Radio about the severe electricity crisis in Gaza strip on Thursday.
The meeting was attended by Fathy Al-Sheikh Khalil - the head of energy authority, the journalist Abd-Elnasser Abu-elaon – The manager of Jerusalem Radio broadcasters, Hamed Jad – an economic affairs specialist in Alyam daily newspaper m, Mohammad Abu Jayyab - the editor of al eqtisadeya daily newspaper, Rana Alshrafy - a member in Palestine newspaper, and the journalist Noor Sweerky.
Fathy Al-sheikh asserted that there is a crisis in managing the electricity issue in Gaza strip, adding that only does the power station suffer from technical problems after being targeted in the last Israeli war against Gaza.
Al-Sheikh Khalil clarified that some areas in Gaza strip get electricity continuously but through illegal ways, admitting that this out-controlled crisis strains the citizens. He said that the plant doesnt get enough fuel to operate at full capacity, adding that the electricity grid can completely receive ongoing power.
Al-Sheikh appealed the government to help energy authority reduce the taxes imposed on the power plant. During the meeting, the discussion door was opened for the journalists to ask the Palestinian administrator whatever they want.
