Press House Hosts a Ceremony to Commemorate Nakba

Gaza, 13/5/2015 --- Press House – Palestine hosted a ceremony titled “Our Journey is our Hope for Return”; to commemorate Nakba 67, implemented by (Eyes of Hope) team at the organization’s main office in Gaza.

 

The ceremony included poetry and dabka performances, in presence of a group of journalists and media students.

 

The head of NGOs Network – Khalil Abu Shamallah – said: “Commemoration of Nakba must not be limited to events and activities.

 

However, it shall be part of our culture and raise our children on our right to return.”

 

Abu Shamallah stressed on the necessity of ending division that resulted in a creating a huge gap between Gaza and the West Bank, ensuring that the right to return is a personal demand and right that nobody can give it up.

 

For his turn, the journalist Yehia Elmadhoun said: “Nakba anniversary is painful, and the bad memories Palestinians lived didn’t stop and will not stop in the light of division.”

 

He also added that national unity must not be only a slogan, but should embody in our hearts, and make it a priority over our political and faction orientations; so that we can defeat Israeli occupation.

 

For his part, the team leader – Mohammed Sharaf – said: “refugees and activists from organizations and institutions send in this day a message to the Palestinian leadership demanding staying on our rights and constants.”
