Gaza- Thurs Jan 2nd , 2014 --- Press House – Palestine organized a meeting between the professional photographer Khalil Abu-Hamra and tens of young photographers and journalists as a part of "Exchange media best practices program."
Mr. Belal Jadallah, head of Press House opened the meeting welcoming the guests, and praised the positive role fresh photographers play in the field; expressing his admiration of their success in spite of the challenges they face.
Jadallah stressed the role of Press House in supporting and being side by side with the Palestinian journalists.
Then, Khalil Abu-Hamra, AP photographer, talked extensively about his professional experience in journalism photography and how he could overcome the difficulties he faced at the beginning of his journey.
Abu-Hamra also emphasized the need of new photographers to commit to media ethics and avoid any conflicts with senior journalism photographers.
Worth mentioning is that AP photographer had worked outside the strip for three years in "Egypt, Syria & Sudan" in times of violence, and he's expected to travel to Cairo in the few coming days.
Abu-Hamra had won several international awards, most importantly, "Robert Caba Award" for the best photographer of 2009 war, and "Pulitzer Prize" in 2013 for his unique media coverage of the conflict in Syria..
