On Monday, September 11, 2023, Press House-Palestine held an awareness workshop on "Enhance Preparedness for Journalists during Emergencies – First Aid".
The workshop was held in Gaza City, presented by Doctor Majd Abu Jayyab and Journalist Fadi Shana, in the presence of a number of journalists and graduates of media colleges.
Abu Jayab reviewed the first aid skills, including assessing the condition of the injured and how to resuscitate the heart, knowing the contents of the first aid bag, vital signs of the human body (temperature, pressure, breathing, pulse); and field treatment procedures for the injured.
Shana, for his part, reviewed the significance of journalist occupational safety, the different kinds of risks they are exposed to, the most crucial professional protection that must be accessible during media coverage in the field, as well as the types and uses of "Protective Jackets and Helmets."
