Press House publishes a factsheet on Violations against Media Freedoms in Palestine, November 2022

The Legal Protection Unit for Journalists at Press House - Palestine (BAS) has published a factsheet on the violations against media freedoms in Palestine in November 2022.

The factsheet highlighted violations committed against Palestinian journalists whether by Israeli Occupation, or Internal Palestinian entities, in addition to digital rights violations. The number of committed violations in November against media freedoms in Palestine reached (134), the Legal Protection Unit at Press House has documented (105) violations committed by Israeli Occupation representing (78%) out of total violations, (10) internal violations representing (8%) and (19) digital rights violations representing (14%).

The distribution of violations by geographical area indicates that the violations by the Israeli Occupation in the West Bank reached (105), the most prominent of these are (50) cases of coverage prevention, (17) cases of tear gas injury, and (11) cases of physical assault on journalists, while (10) internal violations occurred in cases of physical assault against journalists, including (3) in the Gaza Strip, and (7) violations in the West Bank.

As for the digital rights violations, (19) digital rights violations were documented, most of them were caused by the "Meta" company, which includes the platforms Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
