On Wednesday, June 08, 2022, Shaghaf initiative held a media seminar on the topic of "Novel as an Effective Media tool in Promoting Humanization" under the auspices of Press House-Palestine, as part of the activities of the Swiss-Norwegian project of the year.

The media initiative was held in Gaza City, with the participation of Yousri Al-Ghoul, Founder of Shaghaf Initiative, Mohammed Nassar, Palestinian writer and novelist, Noureddine Hajjaj, Novelist and the seminar's facilitator, and Hanadi Alwan, The Project Coordinator, as well as a number of other writers and those interested in cultural and media affairs.

Al-Ghoul stated in his opening speech at the seminar that the initiative aims to spread the culture of various intellectual trends and develop the importance of pluralism and acceptance of other viewpoints in Palestinian literature, linking this to the level of improving knowledge towards others and learning about the ways of local and international discourse.

Ms. Hanadi Alwan, Project Coordinator, emphasized the Press House interest to promote the Palestinian story and express it to a local and international audience, as it must reach out to all people while maintaining its humanitarian content.

For his part, Noordin Hajjaj, reviewed the initiative's activities in the coming years, as well as what it has provided to young writers and novelists, as it seeks to fully transfer Palestinian literature to the outside world, as well as its humanitarian content that aids the Palestinian cause.

The novelist Nassar, stated that the Palestinian novel expresses the Palestinian people's anguish and pain under occupation, as well as our identity and legacy. As for the cultured people role is to prioritize the homeland over all other considerations and to approach the foreign community with compassion.

He continued, "The generation of young writers finds its support from the generation of adult writers who were carved in stone to find a foothold for them," emphasizing the importance of reading and the need to create a reading generation, as well as the writer's responsibility to read more than he writes in order to obtain sources and acquire culture and language."
