Gaza - Press House
On Tuesday, May 31, 2022, Press House – Palestine (BAS) implemented a media initiative on the topic of "Verification Tools for Journalists in Newsrooms", as part of the Swiss and Norwegian project activities 2022.
The initiative was conducted in Khan Younis in the southern of the Gaza Strip, with participation of investigative journalist Mr. Mohammed Abu Shahma, and in presence of a number of journalists (women & men).
This initiative aimed to enable journalists to access resources provided by journalistic websites interested in investigative journalism and how to use them during writing investigative reports.
Mr. Mohammed Abu Shahma explained verification tools for misinformation news, videos and photos, methods for evaluating the veracity of documents and sources, documenting information and digital protection for investigative journalist when surfing the web.
The initiative included a number of participations from participants, which focused on how to identify misinformation news, photos and videos, methods of knowing the truth, news sources.
