Gaza - Press House
On November, Press House – Palestine (BAS) launched a media campaign to enhance press freedom among Palestinian community, as part of "The Legal Protection for Palestinian Journalists"project activities, in partnership with the European Endowment for Democracy.
Lawyer Abdullah Sharsharh "Coordinator of Legal Protection Unit for Journalists" at Press House, mentioned that the media campaign aims to raise the awareness level of media professionals (women and men) and the Palestinian community about the legal duties and rights that guarantee freedom of expression, in addition to the importance of legal protection.
The media campaign included publishing billboards in the Palestinian Governorates in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, with slogan "Yes to Press Freedom", refereeing to the text (19) of the Palestinian Basic Law "No offense on freedom of opinion, each human has the right to express about his opinion, publishing by saying or writing or other ways of expression with take in consideration provisions of the law.
In addition to that, the media campaign included broadcasting a radio spot on local radios and talking about the importance of right of expression and access to information.
