Under Press House Sponsorship: Shagaf holds media initiative on the topic of "Tolerance Culture and Enhancing the Intellectual Directions"

On Wednesday, July 07, 2021, under Press House sponsorship, Cultural Shagaf Initiative held a cultural initiative as part of “Strengthening Free & Independent Media in Palestine” project activities funded by the Norwegian and the Swiss Governments.

The initiative was held in Gaza City, with consideration of high prevention measures to prevent the outbreak of COVID 19, in presence of writer and novelist Mr. Gharib Asqalani, writer Mr. Yosri Al Ghoul, Shagaf initiative Founder, Project coordinator at Press House, initiative members and a number of writers and youth who interested in cultural and media affairs.

In his speech, Mr. Al Ghoul talked about intellectual role in enhancing the other opinion culture and integrating into community that have different ideas, also he mentioned that the goal of cultural initiative is to contribute in supporting the culture of respecting other opinion and disseminate the spirit of tolerance among people of readers and their circles.

From her part, the project coordinator said that Press House seeks always to sponsor the initiatives in order to supporting freedom of expression and stressing that literature is the most important tools for media and transferring the culture, in addition the development of ideas among media professionals and writers to communicate by easier way.

During the cultural session, writer Mr. Asqalani talked about techniques of tolerance culture among people, and how literati could affect each other at all places they presences, through a world of various ideas, cultures and sects, and to stand on what literary letters and writings carry for other people, stressing that the strategy of Palestinian literature represented in enhancing the intellectual directions and hatred rejection.

The cultural session included a number of participations from participants, which focused on techniques of communities in promoting tolerance culture by literature, changing behavior and intellectual directions to positive case.
