Gaza – Press House

On June 8 and 9, 2021, Press House - Palestine held four legal awareness workshops on identity theft in Palestinian law and registration of media institutions, as part of “Strengthening Free & Independent Media in Palestine” project activities funded by the Norwegian and the Swiss Governments.

Awareness workshops were organized at Press House - Palestine in the Gaza Strip, with consideration of high prevention measures to prevent the outbreak of COVID 19, with the participation of a number of journalists (women and men) and ‎media ‎faculties students and graduates.

Lawyers Yousef Krsou and Monther Al Ferani, facilitators of workshops, they presented in the first workshop difference between identity theft and impersonation in Palestinian law and presented in the second workshop the legal of using both identity theft and impersonation in investigations journalism.

The workshops included a number of participations from journalists (women and men), which all focusing on reality of journalistic work and the legal problems which they face during preparing the press materials and investigations journalism that may be exposed them to the legal accountability, in addition to complications that facing journalists (women and men) when licensing the media institutions.
