Gaza – Press House
On Sunday, March 7, 2021, Press House – Palestine (BAS) organized a discussion session on the topic of “Journalistic Honor Code for Media Coverage of the Palestinian Elections” at Press House Office in the Gaza Strip in presence of representatives of press frameworks and media institutions.
With consideration of high prevention measures to prevent the outbreak of COVID19 Mr. Saleh Al-Masry, a representative of the Palestinian Journalists Support Committee, Mr. Sami Issa, a representative of the Democratic Press Association, Mr. Rami Al-Shrafi, a representative of the Palestinian Journalists’ Syndicate, Mr. Tawfiq Al-Sayed Saleem, a representative of the Palestinian Media Association, Mr. Ahmed Zogbor, a representative of the Palestinian Journalist Bloc, Ms. Mona Khader, Head of Filastiniyat Organization in the Gaza Strip, Mr. Hamza Hamad, a member of Democratic Media Association, Mr. Fathi Sabah Head of the Palestinian Institute for Communication & Development, and Ms. Layla Al-Modalal, a representative of South Women Media Forum, participated in the discussion session.
Mr. Belal Jadallah, General Director of Press House, welcomed the attendees and indicated the objectives of the journalistic honor code during the media coverage of the Palestinian elections and emphasized the need for preparing an appropriate atmosphere for the Palestinian journalists (women and men) during the electoral process.
The attendees reviewed the notes taken of the first copy of journalistic honor code that was distributed earlier among media frameworks representatives.
It is worth mentioning that the previous session was held at the headquarters of the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate last Sunday, February 28, to discuss the Journalistic Honor Code, which was launched by the Press House as an initiative to prepare the atmosphere for the Palestinian elections in terms of media.
