Gaza – Press House
On Sunday, February 14, 2021, Press House - Palestine (BAS) organized a legal workshop on the topic of “Legal Protection for Journalists During the Public Palestinian Elections” as part of “Legal Protection for Palestinian Journalists” project activities funded by the European Endowment for Democracy.
With consideration of high prevention measures to prevent the outbreak of COVID19, Mr.Hadi Shuhaibar, lawyer, Mr. Abdullah Sharshra, coordinator of the Legal Protection Unit for Journalists at Press House, and a group of media graduates and journalists (women and men) participated in the legal awareness workshop.
Mr. Hadi Shuhaibar reviewed the rights and the commitments of journalists (women and men) and media institutions during the Palestinian public elections in addition to focusing on media coverage inside the election centers. Furthermore, he addressed the facilities that journalists must be provided with by the enforcement entities and Central Elections Committee during the election process.
The workshop included many participations from journalists (women and men); most of them focused on the media coverage of the electoral process from a legal perspective to contribute in the success of the electoral process in Palestine.
