Gaza- Press House
On Thursday, 08 October, 2020, the legal team for defense of media freedoms, of Press House – Palestine (BAS) held its first meeting.
Mr. Kanaan Al-Sourani, Mr. Munthr Al-Farani, Ms. Hanaa Tarzi, Mr. Belal Jadallah, Mr. Hikmat Abu Zakari, Ms. Fidaa Al-Jarro, Mr. Mohammed Al Jaja, Ms. Raghda Al-Najjar participated in the meeting.
From his part, Mr. Belal Jadallah, director of Press House - Palestine, stressed that this meeting of the legal team, comes as part of the Press Houseefforts to promote freedom of expression and defend media freedoms and provide legal consultation for journalists in Palestine.
From his part, Mr. Kanaan Al-Sourani said that the establishment of the legal team is an important legal leapfor journalists, pointing out that it is a step in the direction of working to promote public media freedom.
Mr. Al-Sourani stressed that the legal team will contribute to provide legal support for journalists, educate them and provide them with needed consultation and legal aid.
