On Monday, August 24, 2020, Press House – Palestine (BAS) implement a meeting on the topic of "Investigative Journalism, challenges and recommendations", as part of the dialogue club sessions, in collaboration with MA'AN Development Center and the Society of Women Graduates in the Gaza Strip, as part of the activities of the Youth Partnership Forum project.

The meeting targeted a group of graduates and students of  media in Palestinian Universities in Gaza, where the investigative journalist Amjad Yaghi presented important information on the reality of the work of the investigative journalism locally.

Mr.Yaghi reviewed the challenges of investigative journalism writing and how journalists can overcome it, according to his own experience, and he addressed a number of examples at the Arab and international investigations.

Mr. Yaghi stressed that the investigative journalist should stay away from causing confusion and rumors in the community, otherwise he will fall off the status of journalist, explaining a number of challenges facing investigative journalism in Palestine, most notably the time matters, financial costs, access to information and confidentiality of sources.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Yaghi listened to a number of participations in which the participant inquired, which focused on the rights of the investigative journalist, and how he could protect himself legally.

Mr. Yaghi concluded the meeting by adopting several recommendations, most notably keeping the investigative journalist for the privacy of others and securing sources, moving away from malicious cases that would harm the public interest, and relying on documents and evidence without issuing judgments.
